More evidence of Ohio's weird weather.

May 2nd, 2016

Hey, look, sun snow.

As an addendum to a blabbering I made about a month ago, I have for you another picture of the inexplicable weather gracing our weird little corner of Ohio. I do this because I'm wrestling with something else that's going on, and this is the easier thing to gibber about today. But if you check out those pictures from the post mentioned a few seconds ago, you'll see more weirdness.

What you're looking at is sun snow. This is snow falling furiously from the sky even though there isn't a cloud in it, which is curious in and of itself. This photo was taken an hour or so after the last two in the series, there, but I put all three in line so you can compare and contrast just how wacky the weather is hereabouts. But, then again, this portion of the planet is the true outlier.

You see, temperatures worldwide have shifted a few degrees for the hotter, just about everywhere except in the eastern half of the Midwest. This is why my coworkers are gleefully mocking the very idea of climate change, because they can't see the effects of it happening outside their window. I've gone on about this at length here, or on Twitter, so I won't bother repeating their dumb.

But, though it's not actually hotter here, the weather is definitely weirder. This is why we can have sun, rain, snow, and more, all within the space of a few hours. On the plus side, tomorrow's weather is supposed to be a bit nicer, so perhaps we can get ourselves outside for a bit. You know, to do things. And get in some of that exercise that I keep going on about.
