No. Just... no.

Behold the hypnoballs!

I think I've given the people at Marvel my last dollar.

More accurately, I've opted to not give them any more. In case you're wondering what I'm going on about, the clowns now running this company have launched what they ostensibly view as 'compelling storytelling', in the form of the complete coring out of one of their original, most impactful characters. In and of itself, this wouldn't be surprising, but the big deal is just how they did this.

I can't really explain how I feel about this better than the article I read here, so I'm not even going to try. I could care less about the latest character assassination in the name of making a quick buck, because that's par for the course with these guys. But the blatantly offensive nature of this particular change just goes beyond the pale, and I don't wish to support this brand of douchebaggery.

This is actually a big deal for me, since I've been a big Marvel guy since the 1980s, and I've literally been champing at the bit to see the actually decent super hero movies they've been putting out. As much as I want to finally pick up the second Avengers movie, and was pining to see Civil War and the Doctor Strange film, I just can't in good conscience do that. So I'm not going to.

Maybe I'll get over this at some point, and maybe not. But this was a shit move and they should suffer consequences. Sure, I only throw a few hundred bucks their way each year (or rather, used to), but if enough people do the same, maybe some soulless bean counter will notice. Probably not, but I reserve the right to be optimistic. I'm usually wrong in these circumstances, but at least I can sleep at night.

Well, if I can't sleep, it's not because of supporting garbage like this.
